“A life committed to quality”

D’Arcy’s 30 + year history as one of the world’s best shapers shines through all we do here at D’Arcy. Quality and design is at the forefront of our brand. We make board for individuals, customised without compromise. D’Arcy prides himself in always having been a pioneer in surfboard design and still surfing at a competitive level gives him a leading edge when it comes to modern design and surfboard dynamics, yet his long history as a professional shaper allows him to take the best from past design and integrate this into shapes to suit all levels of surfer. D’Arcy believes that the individual custom shape is the most fundamental part of your surfing evolution.

Starting as a hobby at the young age of 13 and growing into a full-blown career after many years of surfing the best waves around the globe, Stuart D’Arcy has personally shaped over 37,000 boards with most of these being customs.

Over the years D’Arcy has shaped boards for numerous pro surfers such as Martin Potter, Barton Lynch, Jake Patterson, Shane Powell, Derek Ho, John Shimooka, Nainoa Surratt, Mick Fanning, Dean Morrison, Chris Davidson, Damon Harvey, Clint Kimmins, Wiggolly Dantas, Jack Freestone, Asher Pacey, Layne Beachley and Lisa Anderson to name a few.

D’Arcy is also one of the few shaper’s who surf as well as they shape. He proved this at the 2003 Australian Titles by convincingly winning the over 35 men’s at the age of 40 in six-foot perfection at Cylinders on North Stradbroke Island and still surfs competitively for the Kirra team.

After all these years of shaping boards, D’Arcy still loves what he does and believes your next board should always be better than your last.
